Asia Fest featuring
Dragon Boat Festival
SInce 2014
An annual event where we share Asian Culture through the unique sport of Dragon Boat Racing, which is also a vehicle for organizational team building, fundraising, and fun. In addition, the event helps draw attention to the Greater Triangle area, promotes local communities, and help enhance our growing economy.
Career Conference
SInce 2010
Served 700+ job seekers and graduates. The primary goal of the Career Development Conference is to offer free training to help job seekers and graduates better prepared for entry into the job market. These events offer hands-on training from topnotch staffing professionals, and communication specialists.
Asian Focus is a non-profit organization, working together with student groups like CSSFA and SASE in co-hosting this project to benefit students and job seekers.
Health Event
SInce 2010
An event we promote health awareness. In 2010, we organised a team of 45 + medical professionals and doctors, 14 coalition partners, and sponsors whom put together 80 exhibits offering health education and providing informational access to quality healthcare / health screening to bridge health disparities to 1500+ attendees.
Since the inauguration of dragon boat festival in 2014, the event has been integrated as the feature exhibit at the festival.
Citizenship Day
2010
We offer pro-bono service to financially and English-challenged qualified residents to apply for U.S. citizenship.
In 2010, Asian Focus partnered with American Immigration Lawyer\'s Association (AILA), 14 attorneys, and 10+ paralegals to help qualified residents apply for US citizenship. We serviced over 40 participants and submitted 14+ applications free of charge.
Finance, Small Business & Life Series
2011-2013
To address daily life issues and challenges by providing education on various financial/life planning topics.
In 2011, 2012, and 2013, Asian Focus served over 400+ participants, addressing daily life issues and challenges. Technology for ESL , Tax, Finance, Retirement, Insurance, Health Talk and more.
ACE 4 Tomorrow (Advancing Children’s Education for Tomorrow)
The Ace It program is a youth-led, youth-founded tutoring organization, under the education branch of non-profit organization Asian Focus North Carolina, in which high school tutors mentor middle-school and elementary-school aged tutees.
Alliance for Citizenship and Education of the Under-resourced (ACE)
The Alliance for Citizenship and Education of the Under-represented (ACE) serves low-income and English-as-second-language Asian immigrants by helping them pursue a life with happiness, proper education, and a fulfilling citizenship.
